What happened to Rob?

Well, Robert and I broke up while I was in college and the last thing I heard was that he moved to Vegas and that is where he died--I got a forwarded newpaper obit from a bogus email addy, but verified the info, it did not mention manner of death...I don't have any details.

The details of our breakup were fairly grisly and violent, so needless to say we did not keep in touch.

Joseph Leeb

I am Lynda, Joe's mother.  He passed away at 2 am on Oct. 26, 2006. He was 34.   He was in the hospital at Augusta, GA.  He had gone through his 7th surgery for Crohns' Disease.   He was in surgery ICU for ten days and did not survive.  I was with him everytime he went into the hospital.   As some of you know, he had a rare blood disorder called a gamma globin anemia......he was born with this but was very good at keeping his illness to himself mostly.  This illness also contributed to his death.

Joseph graduated from Georgia Southern University.   Joseph was a real estate broker and  he later became a nutritionist and personal trainer in Atlanta, Ga, where he lived until his illness forced him to return to live with us.

He loved Meade High School and his classmates.  I use to laugh at him because he was a late grower in height and he grew to be 6 ft. tall while in college.   He never forgot his first girlfriend, Lynn Harrington, and his best friend was Sherri Fuller.  He really loved pizza at Giannia's.

It can not be explained how dreadfully I miss him.  He is always with me in my heart, soul, and mind.  I will love him until the day I die...just as any mother loves a child that passes before she does.

Thank you very much for remembering him.

Joe was a terrific guy.  I can't imagine your pain and how much you miss him.  Know that he was a wonderful member of our class and you did a great job raising him.  He was always a stand-up, genuine guy.

My sympathies are with your family.

Tina, I think ERic changed his last name to Straddock or Stradeck (sp?).  I might still have a letter from college years.  Will double check the spelling.

OMG...I FOUND HIM!!!  His last name is spelled Straddeck.  I found an email for him and will contact him.  Thanks Sherry.  Tina...I will tell him that you are looking for him and pass along your email.  I'll send you a message on FB tonight too, in case you don't see this.  I even found a picture of him online.  CRAZY!!!

I was also fortunate enough to know Joe in school and had lost touch with him once we graduated. Like Karen said, Joe was a good and genuine guy. Never once did I encounter a person that did not like him.

Now that I am a mother, I cannot imagine the pain that may be in your heart, but just know that your son was a well loved individual and he and your family will be always in my heart.

Thank you!

I am eternally grateful for those of you who helped me get in touch with Eric.  I was finally able to get an email to him yesterday and heard back from him last night! It was wonderful! It seems like I've been looking for him for an eternity.

I am so saddened to hear about Joe's death. He was a good friend in high school.  I am glad to know what happened, though. It is better than not knowing.
